With the proper care, we are sure your whole family will
receive many years of enjoyment from your new friend. One common cause of concern or question we are frequently asked is: "Will my carving develop any checking or splits over time?" The answer is, some minor splitting is natural and unavoidable, it happens when the wood dries too quickly. Most customers believe it actually adds a rustic charm or special character to the carving. We at Yogi's Wood Carving's, recommend you try to keep your new friend out of direct sunlight, or if indoors, away from any direct heat source. It is best to set your carving outside in a shady spot where it will still be exposed to rain and moisture. We also recommend you seal your carving at least once a year with a clear wood oil or polyurethane. If you ever need to touch up your carving, the paints are readily available from any Walmart store. The Brand is Color Place; use either gloss black, or walnut brown, depending on the color of your woodcarving. We hope you enjoy your new friend. |
